1 GS-5/7/9 vacancy located at the US Army Corps of Engineers Grapevine Lake Project located in Grapevine, TX.
About the Position: As a Park Ranger, you will participate in the conservation, preservation, restoration and use of project natural and cultural resources at the Grapevine Project. The project encompasses approximately 17,826 acres of land & water with 60 miles of shoreline. Facilities include 14 recreation areas, 3 marinas, boat ramps, beaches, campgrounds, trails and wildlife management areas.
Responsibilities:
-Enforce Title 36 CFR by educating the visiting public on project purposes, conditions, policies, and regulations.
-Patrol project lands and waters on foot, by patrol vehicle, by mountain bike, by ATV or by patrol boat.
-Investigate and report violations of unauthorized use, trespass and encroachments around the lake.
-Conduct interpretive services and promote water safety for the general public and for special groups.
-Respond to emergency calls, providing first aid and other appropriate assistance.
-Work with Lake Staff and volunteers performing routine park maintenance and environmental projects around the lake.
-Build real estate request packages for review and approval.
-Perform flood risk management duties including operation of flood gates and routine dam inspections.
-Inspect USACE managed and outgranted recreation areas to ensure safe, orderly, sanitary and equitable operation.
