The Abilene-Taylor County Health District has received a grant for a vector control temporary paid internship. The grant is for 20 weeks, 10 hours a week, $150.00 per week. The grant is from the National Association of City-County Health Officials partnering with the CDC. Only four of these grants throughout the United States were given and Abilene has received one of them. The intern/student would be working with a health inspector on mosquito trapping and surveillance; mosquito larviciding; and working on updating the Standard Procedures of Operation for the vectrol control program.
